Dalada Perahara
The senkadagala perahara is a traditional annual festival held in Kandy Sri Lanka. The festival is organized by the temple of the tooth and four great temples. The most popular part of the Esala festival which begins on the Esala poya day is the perahara festival held in the month of Nikini. This festival has become a unique symbol of Sri Lanka. This is a buddhist festival with dancers, whip dancrs, upcountry dancers and various of the cultural dances. The festival concludes with the traditional Nikini fifteen day water cutting festival.
