Aloka

              My study room is very simple. There is a long desk placed against the wall. I have a wooden chair with a cushion to sit on. On my desk there is a study lamp. My desk has two drawers that I can slide out or to keep my things. On the wall above my desk is a chart. I am a great fan of Kumar Sangakkara, I put their photos there. In one corner of the room, there are a Small carpet and a cushion. I like to sit there and read a book. My study room has a ceiling fan. The walls are painted in light cream. A picture of Mickey Mouse reading a book is on the door. I like my simple and clean study room. I like the quiet atmosphere as it is very conducive tor studying. I am spared of all distractions when I am in my own study room.

  Trees are one of the best things that mother earth has provided us. Trees give us many things. For example, trees provide us shade. Flowers give us good smell, Some climbers give us fruits. Trees like neem are medicinal trees. Butterfly loves to suck nectar from flowers. Birds make their nests on trees. The chirping of the birds in the morning is sweet to the ear. Monkeys love to jump around the trees. We play under a big mango tree. When we are hungry, one of us climbs the mango tree and plucks the sweet mangoes. When we are very tired we even sleep under the shade of this tree.  We study together sitting under the shade of the mango Trees are inde ed a gift from God, it is our duty to protect them.

   I have many friends but there is one who is very special to me. Her name is Manju. She is my best friend.  Manju and I are classmates. We do many things together. We go to the library to borrow books to read. We go to the canteen to eat at recess time. When Manju brings food from home, she always shares it with me.  My school bus once broke down and Manju asked her mother to give me a lift home. When I do not know how to do my homework, Manju is happy to teach me. Manju is very clever but she is not proud. Manju and I like sports. We play badminton together. My best friend, Manju, is friendly, helpful and kind to me I treasure our friendship and I think Manju and I will be there for each other always.
