Sigiriya

     There are many places of historical value in Sri Lanka. Sigiriya is one of them. 

Sigiriya was built by King Kashyapa. It is situated in the Matale district. Sigiriya is world famous for its fresoes. Hundreds of foreing tourists visit this place everyday. It has become a popular place amomg the local tourists too. I also went to visit sigiriya with my family. 

The height of the rock is about 600 feet. There are ruins of an ancient palace on the top of the rock. Also there is a moat around the rock. Sigiriya is concidered the eighth wonder of the world.
